Not the typical "how do I apply zimmerit" question. I'm looking specifically for pictures of zimmerit being applied at the factory. What tools where used? Was scaffolding and/or work platforms used? Pictures of how zim was mixed. By a mixer or by hand? I've got a decent reference library and I can't find pics like this, just pictures of vehicles once the zim is on not while it's being put on.

Not easy question... factory photos are not that commom as far as I know, and even less about processes like zimmerit application or painting.
Perhaps the OKH Toy Factory book has something. Or the Spielberger books.

This is a very interesting subject Bob, if you would find pictures of the process please post them here.
Might not be very helpful, but in this Canadian-test document from the web they are talking about a 'roller' and 'fingers' (Germans might have used other technique of course)... :
