I know its been asked a million of times on how you apply decals in your models. Anyhow there aren't any right or wrong doing it.

I will be putting my 1st decals on my models but don't want to ruin the paint/decals on the model when I get to weathering but I'm still skeptic about it.

Here's what I know

1.) After painting, apply gloss coat on the model. Wait for at least 24 hours to dry.
2.) Apply MicroSet in the place where decals are to be applied.
3.) Cut the decals to be used and soak it in water, it should be ready when it slide on the backing paper.
4.) Decals in place. Apply MicroSol in the decal. Let it dry.
5.) Apply gloss coat to seal the decal.
6.) Apply matte coat to seal the decal.

After this steps, is it safe to apply washes and other weathering steps or did I miss anything?

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

me too i do that 6 step but i give the gloss just where the decal goes and depend if or what type of filter i use i decide if do or not the step 6 and if i do what finish, satin or matt,pre-made filters like Ammo or AK on matt,Oils on Satin, for washes only on Gloss surface

For Gloss i like Humbrol AC7431 Clear Gloss Varnish and for matt AK-183 Ultra Matt Varnish
