Hello everyone, I am real excited to have found this forum. I love building models, especially WWII fighter planes.

My favorite plane is the P51D or any of its variants.

I have just recently discovered a close connection to one of the most popular versions of the P51D; the Blue Nose Petie 2nd. I think this is arguably the most popular version of the P51D. I think everyone who has built plastic or resin models has built this plane or at least seen it. The Petie 2nd was flown by Lt Cl John Meyers who was the 4th highest American ace in WW2 and, as I just happened to find out only a few days ago is the grandfather of my cousins husband! How cool is that. Petie was his older brother. and lt Col John Meyers went on the become a 4 star general!

S now I am going to build the Tamiya special silver edition of this plane with a very different out look and purpose.

I will post my build here as soon as I get started.
