I'd need to know what a color of the glass behind the cover of the Chieftain Mk.10 large searchlight box on the left side of the turret?

Black. The purpose is to block visible light and allow only IR light to pass through it. Ignore all models and museum bodges with various shades of red and blue. The filter can be swung out of the way to lie flat against the door if white light is required.
This is great fun on exercise when one can observe 'enemy' infantry under IR and then open the filter and watch them dive into the snow or mud when suddenly illuminated by the searchlight. Repeat until bored....

The only one I recall is in Forty's Ian Allan book on the Chieftain, which shows the area well.
