I'd like to remind you that the AMPS Great White North Show is just around the corner, on May 27th and 28th, in Oshawa, Ontario (just east of Toronto). Once again this year, in addition to AMPS judging, armour model vendors, and a huge raffle table, you can get up close and see fully restored military vehicles from the museum and the Ferret Club's collections, as well as vehicles from the OMVA. Special arrangements have been made to allow modellers access onto, beneath, and inside the vehicles on Friday afternoon. Just make sure to ask the vehicle owner before you climb on. Saturday will feature live shows, including vehicle demonstrations, battle re-enactments and more. See vehicles from the Second World War, Vietnam Era, and the Gulf War.

We are having a special draw on Friday night for anyone who registers and brings their models to judge on Friday. The museum is also arranging a night shoot Friday night (probably around 9:30 pm). The beer tent outside of the 420 Wing hall will be open Friday night, so plan to stick around after judging ends.

You can pre-register for the show by going to the website and selecting the Registration|Pre-Register Online option. If you pre-registered last year, you do not need to create an account on the website. Simply log in using your username and password from last year, and start the pre-registration process. Remember, if you pre-register, you can bypass the registration line on the day of the show and go directly to drop off your models.

If you judge two sessions, you also get a cool AMPS Great White North t-shirt, free!


This year, we are offering a $5 discount for AMPS International members. When you pre-register, enter your AMPS membership number in the form, and you'll get your discount. If you don't know your membership number, go to the Member Services page on the AMPS site (http://www.amps-armor.org/ampssite/login/memberservices.aspx).

You can enter up to 15 models this year. The registration prices are:

AMPS Member: 1 to 4 entries - $15, 5 to 15 entries - $25

Non-AMPS Member 1 to 4 entries - $20, 5 to 15 entries - $30

Junior (17 and under): 1 to 15 entries - $5

AMPS GWN Figure and Diorama Judging

Just a quick note that while we are looking for lots of people to sign up to judge, we are especially looking for some figure and diorama judges.

If you are interested in judging dios and/or figures please click on one or both of the tick boxes AND please sign up for the Saturday 1200-1400 judging shift. My plan (hope?) is to perform the dio and figure judging as registration is closing at 12:30.

Feel free to sign up for a regular judging shift at any time but if you would like to judge Dios or Figures please choose the 1200-1400 for one of your two shifts.
