Hey, folks! Anyone know where to find a nose bubble from a B-17G in 1/72 scale (or even 1/76, if such a thing exists)? Ideally looking for a vacuform part, but will settle for injection molded. Please PM me if you know of an online source or have a spare laying around with which you would be willing to part. Cheers!

Interesting; when I searched Squadron, all I came up with was the set that includes only the cockpit, ball turret, and another piece of glazing. Another search after reading your comment and I see there is another set that did not turn up on my last search. Thanks!

Yep-- my set is a little old-- but it's number 9140, and consists of the cheek windows, tail gun windows, bombardier/nose glazing and upper turret. Its designed for the Hasegawa B17 kit, but it looks like it will fit the Academy kit fine. Not sure what kit you are building, but If you have the fairly recent Airfix/Hornby kit (not their 1960-70s kit) -- it's actually an Academy kit in Airfix box. I think the Hasegawa B17 kit may be the same. I'm not sure it will work for the old 1960's Revell B17 in 1/72 scale, I think the nose was a bit wider and not quite in scale in that kit, but the last time I saw one of those was at least 1970- it had great box art though!

Actually not building a B-17 at all; Working on an airfield signal truck for a local museum. This is what I'm going for:

Figured a vacuform part would look less clunky mounted to the truck than an injection molded one.

Oh-- that's likely a one of a kind vehicle for sure! Looks like a great way to stay warm and dry while sitting on the end it the field-- never underestimate the creativity of the troops.

May have been a one-off, but good ideas like that have a way of making the rounds.
