I recently got my latest issue of FSM and once again they have an article on Future. What caught my eye was that at the end of the article, they have a table of substitutes/similar products to Future and yes, in the Philippines, that would be Johnson's Wipe and Shine. FYI lang.

For those who haven't still got their copy of FSM try this link http://www.swannysmodels.com/TheCompleteFuture.html. This is also the author of that article in FSM.

Baka magulat kayo, hindi tulad ng Future na clear yan, "ma la gatas" ang kulay neto but dont worry the end result is the same :-)

In a word, YES. I've tried it myself and I swear, it gives results. Don't be fooled by the milky-white substance. It dries clear after you spray it on. It smells pleasant too.

Is it the one in the red plastic container? I've used it before on the canopy of my F-15 & it works just as well. The only difference is in the color but I think they have the same components.

i haven't tried it on canopies, but Wipe n' Shine DOES work as a clear coat. I sprayed some on a T-55 before decalling, and aside from some minor pooling where the stuff ran, it gave a glossy finish, good for decalling.
BTW, I read in the thread Warthog linked to that Mr. Mark Softer (or anything with alcohol) will cause it to whiten.
However, I used some Microscale Micro Sol (the stuff that comes in the bottle with the blue cap) on the aforementioned T-55, and nothing happened to the Wipe n' Shine coat...

Here are some excerpts from the article that I hope you find useful:
1 part flat base to 3 parts Future = dead flat
1 part flat base to 10 parts Future = flat
1 part flat base to 15 parts Future = satin
The cloudiness that occurs after applying decal solvents is due to partially cured Future. The article suggests 48 hrs drying time before decaling, although subsequent coats of Future will clear the cloudiness.
Some use Future as photoetch adhesive.
Future with talcum powder makes for a seam filler that sets hard but easily sands away.
Windex(or similar ammonia-based glass cleaner) can be used to thin as well as clean Future from brushes, airbrushes, etc.
Hope this helps.

Anybody could explain to me how to avoid these whitenings on clear parts? Should I just leave it be and it'll be gone in a day or two?

Wipe n Shine come in 2 forms. The white one (in the white bottle) and red (in red bottle). To be on the safe side, I use the white one.

As they mentioned, you could try applying another coat of Wipe n Shine. It is important to let Wipe and Shine dry thoroughly though, before applying alcohol based products which is the culprit of our concerns.

Hello Halo,
Sorry ngayon ko lang napansin inquiry mo. If you're talking about the pump sprays, I suggest that you check out the mist capability of the sprayer. The nozzle may be too big as to spray large drops on your model which is what you don't want. I suggest those perfume atomizers but again, check the misting capability. Ang gusto mo yung pino na mist so para ka na ring naka-airbrush.
Hope that helps.

Hey Bull,
Thanks fo the above. I might try using it as a filler. I guess baby powder will be a good substitute.
Cheers,
