A fellow modeller has discovered a much more effective and economical product for burnishing metal AFV tracks. This product comes in various formulations, so choosing the right one depends on the metal involved. I suspect metal track links are made of zinc. Can anyone confirm that?

Metal tracks [and almost all other metal casting for modelling] are actually made from white metal, though some WM mixture does contain zinc.

Thanks for that info. I'm so new to metal tracks, I'm not even sure what they're made of.

Do you need a metal-specific product for burnishing? Personally I just use a wire brush, which works equally well on all of the metals I use for modelling.
