I'm working on Tamiay 1/35 AAVP7a1. The glass on the hatches is molded on, what's the best way to paint them to look like armored glass?

First paint them black, then a couple coats of clear red. Once dry, paint on a couple coats of clear gloss. This will give it depth and they will look red, blue, purple from different angles, just like the real anti-laser coated optics.
For older, non anti-laser coated optics, swap the clear red for clear green. They will then look like thick, armored glass.

Vallejo has a paint labeled "Periscopes" (70.309) that looks decent with just a coat of gloss clear, at least on the smaller episcopes.
