Instead of looking in between the upper and lower wing halves into a vacant opening, you can now add oil coolers and intricately designed vents that accurately represent the real thing!
The Monogram and Revell 1/48 B-17 family of kits are pretty nice overall, and represent the pinnacle of 1970s molding technology. Sure the panel lines are not recessed, but the lines are accurate and there is tons of detail in there.
