Hi Everyone,
I'm on my second kit with steel or white metal PE. My first model was a disaster regarding the PE. I was required to bend the part 90 degrees and twist it 45 degrees to make an aerial. It broke.
Now I find myself with a very fine steel or white metal part that I will have to twist 90 degrees. The kitmaker, Academy gave me three when I only need one. I'd love to have two spares.
Does anyone have techniques and tips for dealing with steel PE regarding cutting, folding, and twisting or know of a good tutorial?
Thank you for reading!
Gary

Practise on the frets to get used to the metals properties.

You may try to anneal it by heating the metal over a flame until it's red.
But as Steve said, try with the fret first..

There ought to be a law against making steel PE. It's nothing but trouble and headaches.
Test out the annealing suggestion on a scrap piece. When I tried it, it only made the metal more brittle.
