Armor Museum Restoration Area Visit

AMPS Atlanta is pleased to announce that we have arranged a visit to the Armor and Cavalry Museum’s Restoration Area on Fort Benning in conjunction with our show in February.

Here are a few details.
• The visit will take place on Friday, February, 19th, 2016.
• The Restoration Area is not open to the General Public. Those interested should contact Mike Reaves from Atlanta AMPS ([email protected]).
• Visitors will meet our David Hobbs in the parking lot of the National Infantry Museum at 0900 on Friday morning.
• David will arrange to get everyone on post.
• We can provide transportation from the NIM to the yard for ten or so visitors. If we have more, we will be able to arrange to have enough folks with government ID's at the NIM to get everyone in. Otherwise, the process for a visitor's pass is somewhat cumbersome and should be done at least a week in advance.
• AMPS will not provide transportation to Fort Benning, but we can provide directions to the Infantry Museum for those who are interested. The route is straightforward.
• We plan to head back to the NIM parking lot around 1330, and head back to Atlanta from there.
• The visit will include building 4303 where a further 19 vehicles are on display, including ten different Sherman variants.

Don't miss this chance to see over 200 tanks and other military vehicles. Many of them are one of a kind. Len Dyer will be on hand to lend his expertise, as will David Hobbs, Rob Cogan and Jon Potts."
