What's the best way to remove mold lines with mold shift on complex round objects?

Jagdleopard,
If I have mold lines or encounter mold shift on round objects, I make a tool out of brass tubing that has a diameter close to the cylindrical shape I'm working on. I cut the tubing using a cutoff wheel across widest part of the end of the tubing and extend the cut 10-12 mm down the length of the tubing. I then remove one side of the split portion of the tubing and file the rough edges smooth. This tool fits over the round area on the distorted part and provides an edge to shave off the shifted area. There are limits to how much you can remove, but a good bit of mold shift can be improved with this process. I can post pictures of what I use later on if you are interested.
