We have a task to make
fiawrc has approve my suggestion on having a modeling exhibits in schools and other universities.

It looks like school modeling exhibits will be the event of the year. Last night I was talking to a former member who wanted to become active again. He already displayed some of his models in Claret & asked my help in organizing a bigger one. This would be the 3rd scool exhibit, if ever.
So if you can arrange something La Salle do let me know & we can mobilize the other members to support your initiative.
The problem is, I don't know where to start and I can't do it alone. I need your help.

Shonen, you or jomz should find out whether there is anyone in CSO or in the SC who could help you with such an event. Although I kinda doubt it if it could be set up soon enough. For sure you could arrange it for, say, 1st term SY 2004-2005. But for this term I doubt it kasi set na yung sched of activities niyan.
I think the easiest way is if an org will sponsor the exhibit. This could be done in DLSU-M by engineering orgs (maybe MEM) or others.
WSO: "Hey... what's this yellow and black-stiped thingy?"
Pilot: "Don't touch that! That's the eject buttooooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhh............."
WSO: "Wow, fireworks!"

Graduate na DAPAT ako nyan, hehehe! Nonetheless, you really have to go to OSA Office of Student Affairs at the SPS bldg to inquire about events, most of the events around school have a lot of coordination done by the SC, too.

The ideal place to display the models in DLSU are the following:
-The Art Gallery (need permission of Library for that)
-The Covered area of Yuchengco Bldg. Ask Physical Facilties.
-Course your request to the Dean of Student Affairs. Coordinate with the ROTC office as well. They mght find this very interesting. I know Dean Banaynal and I have contacts at the ROTC office. I can help out here.

Thanks guys! I'll try to mail our ROTC yahoo groups. In the mean time, I guess I'll be needing atleast 10 La Sallian members from IPMS (kahit graduate na) for it to be a go.

Thanks, I'm taking up MS2 right now. Good to know you have contacts on this one. As for the venue and duration of the exhibit, 1 week pwede na tapos iexibit natin doon sa Yuchenco ground floor. Kailagan na lang na lagyan ng acrylic cases ang kits for protection.

OK, Shonnen, let's work this out. Let's set up a meeting with the rest somewhere around La Salle or University Mall and let's map out strategy. I know Mang Rudy at ROTC, let's bring it up to him together. And then, let's see Dean Banaynal. CSO, the org who is the closest to help would be MES. When wwe get the green light, we now visit Physical Facilities or the Library.
If I may suggest, why not hold a scale modeling clinic too? Or maybe do an "exhibition" by building models on the spot?

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE!!!
Ok, nakausap na namin ni 4-eyes71 yung sa ROTC office and some other orgs. All I need to do know would be a proposal letter. I'll be doing the letter this weekend and will post it here if it needs revisions or not. Maybe next Wed mapasa na namin yung letter. Ideally sa first term of the next trimester ma-ilalagay yung exhibit (Oct to be the target month to commemorate 60 years of the Battle of Leyte Gulf).
Hmmm..... if ever na sa Oct nga, why not add also to the exhibit the winners of the National modeling competition? :-)

Let's keep our options open. It's best to schedule it in an appropriate date. Time it with a certain date in history.
BTW, who's gonna sign the letter? All of us? And do we represent IPMS Philippines Bert Anido Chapter or Armorama?

I think the IPMS Pres and Vice Pres yung magsign since sila yung pumayag sa gagawing exhibit na it. If we ever represent Armorama, let's ask staff_jim for that.

Hello Shonen & 4-Eyes,
Great initiative guys! If I may suggest, October will be a very busy month on account of the Nationals and the 60th Year Anniversary of the Gambier Bay (the group-build project), so it might be better if you can schedule it after October. The months prior to October will also be quite hectic due to all the preparations.
The exhibit is a very good idea & should probably be discussed in the monthly meeting this Sunday?
Cheers,
Hunter

Here's what you do, work on the draft letter. Send it to me via e-mail so I can present it to the officers on the meeting on Sunday.

When again is University Week? Would be good to have this one timed with U-Week.

I'm afraid it's not feasible this Trimester. Time is short on preparation and the club (BAC) has a full plate of projects lined up and I think some of the guys here are busy with their theses. MES, the org that could support us, is undergoing transition of officers.

Ah, so U-Week is this trimester then, correct? I was thinking more of later rather than sooner, say next year's U-week. So, when again is U-Week?

Ok. Pardon my ignorance. It's been a while and I don't study there anymore. However, specific dates won't be a problem, right, so again when is U-Week (yep, I sound like a broken record but my query hasn't been exactly answered, right? P-I-A I am eh?)
Anyway then, for this proposed contest, why not either late this year or on U-Week next year? It won't make sense holding this one during summer, and the Nationals will be on October, while there isn't much festivities from June to August (if the secondary aim of the contest is to drum up interest), so either December 2004 or January 2005.
