I have another book about America's interventions, "The Banana Wars". It covers mostly Marine actions, but also has Army and Navy actions from, I believe, from end of the American Civil War up to WWI. Some great stories of small, but aggressive, forces defeating larger "insurgent" forces. The actions took place in the Carribean and Central American.

Over here, we have a compilation of documents from the Philippine-American War compiled by J.M. Taylor.

There's also a book on the American Occupation of the Philippines written by James Blount in 1912.

A book about the U.S. Army from 1898-1940 "The Regulars" by Edward M. Coffman. From being a frontier constabulary to just before entering WW2. Covering the officer corps and enlisted personnel, wives and children, and civil-military relationships. It is an interesting book about how the U.S.Army of WW2 came into being from a small professional corp to just before it expanded into a multi-million man Army.
