I am painting some 1/35 scale figures. The. Vallejo acrylics dry with. a. semigloss. finish. Am I not shaking the bottle enough? I also use distilled water. to thin the paint.

I have had this issue too in the past, but I always use a flat coat when done. I am not sure the cause with some colors, but the flat coat will resolve it.

Thanks. I thought I was the only person who experienced this. I will finish my figures with a flat medium.

Some of the colours are like that, the carrier separates and needs to be mixed thoroughly. German cammo brown springs to mind as one, and as mentioned, flat coat fixes things up nicely.

I use Vallejo Model Color all of the time. Unless it is labeled as matte, expect a satin finish. Model Air is flat. Vallejo sells a matte varnish that you can mix into any of their paints. I've become very fond of Tamiya rattlecans for putting on a satin or flat finish. Pledge airbrushed leaves a satin finish - mix a bit Tamiya flat base into it and it will also do the trick. For figures, I'd think any matte varnish - even stuff made by Liquitex etc would work fine.
