How are Mini Hobby (is that the right name?) kits? They're really cheap - almost too cheap! I would think they're Trumpeter reboxes, but has anyone here tried building them?

They are basically reboxes of Dragon, Academy, Tamiya and Heller kits. Their Leclerc is a reboxed Heller kit. Their T-72 line up is quite a lot, I reckon some are from Tamiya and Dragon. Their AAVP-7 kits are Tamiya or Academy reboxed, for the one with ERA they added that feature.
They're ok, somewhat. I got one, a T-72 with Kontakt-V ERA. The tracks were too long and they were missing the metal axle for the sprocket (my fault, I didn't inspect the kit when I purchased it).
If you're looking for cheap Soviet vehicles, you have no choice but Mini Hobby which has the most T-72s lined up, followed by Trump's Soviet tanks and their Chinese copycats.

Ahhhhhh.... imported pala eh.... it's so expensive online ($45!!!!!)! I checked STC Festival a week ago, and they didn't have any Tamiya T-72s....
But today, during a trip to STC Virramall, I had a chance to check out the Mini Hobby version of the T-72 (they let me peek inside some open boxes)... and it SUCKS. Detail, particularly the turret, was exxagerated and toy-like, and the thing is motorized... The manual looks a lot like a typical Tamiya manual... suspiciously so... I think it's a rebox of the Trumpeter version (which was copied from the Tamiya version), and in this case, a LOT has been lost in the translation.
I DID however get the DML M1A1HA OIF for P850... looks like it's going to be a fun build, if I can get over the link-and-length tracks and the (so I hear) scary bustle rack....

Now, you have to buy the Trumpeter M1A1HA. Not good in details but has two sets of tracks - rubber and indy. The indy is good compared to the DML one. DML Abrams indy trracks SUCKS! Fit is bad.... really bad.
