What are the Pros and Cons of these various scales?
Price?
Quality?
Availability?
What do you prefer and why?
Cheers,

I prefer 1/35 for armour. Said that, these are my pros and cons for each scale:
1/35 has a wide range available, you can find them everywhere and the size is enough to get as much detail as you want. On the other hand, once your collection grows is more difficult to find room for them.
1/48 allows fast builds, considerable less time than 1/35 so you can quickly pass to painting stage. They also occupy less room on your shelf. There are not so many vehicles available and even less aftermarket items.
1/16 requires a lot of space and detailing it to a good level usually needs time. Only a few kits available as far as I know.
1/72 are really small, ultra fast builds and paint is usually simplified as well... although yo can find real masters out there.
Hope this helps!

Thank you for the reply sir!
That does help a lot!
I was leaning towards 1/35th scale.
I may try a few 1/72nd scale to try out my painting and weathering techniques. As to hone them before diving into doing it on my 1/35th.
What's yours thoughts there?
Cheer,
Dustin

Hi Dustin,
If you aim to 1/35 and want to practice, I would go for the cheapest 1/35 models I could find. Build them quickly with no extras and paint them.
Look at this site buy&sell forum, shows, ebay or special offers at shops, get a couple of kits and start working.
