So, rather than let the Panzer 46 folks have all the fun with their what-if paper panzeers, how about an alternative 70s history where the MBT-70 did become the MBT for the US Army instead of the Abrams. In this history, like the M1, it lasted well into OIF. What do you think the evolution would have been? Would the retractable cannon be replaced completely for more ammo storage or would have become a 25mm bushmaster? Would some sort of side skirts been put on? Would the TC be given a .50 cal? Would the optic housings be the same or look more like the Abrams? etc etc. Getting some ideas together on doing something than a plain old MBT70.
