I was experimenting True Earth's products to age and fade the model, but so far the results are somewhat mixed; the product (it's not really a paint) breaks up into small droplets when it gets onto the surface, instead of spreading evenly. It does not matter how much I dilute it, how I apply it (brush or airbrush), it is not giving an even coverage. Perhaps I should mix it with some surfactants?

(I'm using this set http://www.true-earth.com/contents/en-uk/d6.html)

Any advice would be much appreciated.

I have used True Earth, and find it works great. You have to apply it to a wet surface, water works and even better with a drop of dish soap, or apply it with an airbrush.

also it works better on a matt(flat) surface. I found it does not apply well over Future or a gloss surface.

Thank you for the reply. I was applying it directly to the matte paint. (Water itself does not spread well, either, so I guess some surfactant would help.)

I had the same results with airbrush as well... droplets, and not an even surface. (As it would be with paint.)

I'll try the pre-wet surface with some soap, and see what happens.
