Theirs is the Glory was made in Arnhem using the real veteran survivors of the attack after they had been freed from German captivity. Everything is real because it was still there as it had been left at the end of the battle. The population of Arnhem had nearly all left after the original battle as depicted in A Bridge Too Far so this was filmed amidst the actual rubble the fighting had happened in with the actual veterans who had done the fighting.


This makes it somewhat unique as a war movie.
