Hi all, I have a recurring problem painting photo etch mesh, the paint seems to clog it up and it looks all uneven looking, I could use advice on A) how to fix my models that already have that problem, aside from covering with accessories and mud, and B) How to prevent this problem in future. I'm using Tamiya paints and my airbrush, i generally don't thin them too much, is that my problem?

I paint them with low pressure, just a light misting, building up slowly. If it's too much,I have cleaned out screens carefully with a thumb drill or the tip of an Exacto.

Hi,
I would say the problem is too thick paint; as Anthony suggested try increasing the thinner/paint ratio and paint in thin layers.

As for the ones already painted, isopropylic alcohol removes Tamiya paint quite easily so you can start it over.

You can use a needle or the tip of a razor knife, to remove the clogs, after you paint it.
