Has any one ordered from the 3-D printing company Shapeways yet. I am wondering about the quality of the stuff they produce and it's compatability with styrene kits. Spacificly the dual 20 M.M. Ork., band stand and ammo stowage containers for the Vosper they have available.

Hello Bob,
I am frequent dsigner and printer of my schnellboot stuff. Spaeways is offering a great level of Detail where necessary for my Models in 1:35 scale. Take a look at the pictures. Impressive detail with the torpedozielsäule (all those switches).

You have to select yourself what are the parts that benefit from details, what are the others that are plain vanilla parts.
For example my superstructure is printed white/strong flexible, all Hatches with bullseye, 4 handelbars, are printed frosted ultra Detail.
In conclusio: it depends with your scale you are building in. The parts that are Plain valila and the detailed parts The thinnest one stand alone diameter is 0,7 mm these are my 25 ccent of thought on this.
