Hi everypeeps,
I've just registered with the MS page as I have just purchased my first serious ship model and don't really have a scooby about the scale ship modelling scene, I knew that White Ensign was a company specialising in this genre but I know they closed down, so now my problem is I am unaware of any other naval specialist shops/manufacturers where I can get bits and pieces.
I have bought the Revell kit of the Z-1 Fletcher class DD in 1/144th scale and would like to "brass it up" but I don't know where to go. I know Hannants has brass for the US wartime Fletcher but I was hoping I could get something specific to my model, so are there any other maritime shops?
On a more general note I have been modelling for a long time, aircraft, cars, afv's science fiction, in fact nearly everything except ships.
I look forward to the deluge of helpful info undoubtably about to devolve in my direction, so let me say i look forward to meeting you all,
cheers,
spad

Welcome Dave, regarding White Ensign (WEM) their name and product line was purchased by Toms Modelworks and has just been re-released on the original WEM website See here, the resin items are to follow. They will not be stocking other brands however.
Other than the WEM range most of the stuff we need in the UK needs to be imported however there is also Atlantic Models which is Peter Hall who was the person behind the WEM PE he however specializes in cold war RN within his own brand. There is another UK based company the name escapes me but there range is mainly 1/96. Regarding the 1/144 Fletcher Eduard do three PE Sets for the it and I'm sure some one else does upgrade parts for it. It's not a kit I've had an interest in so I can't help you much more than that I'm afraid.
If you post your question in the Model Shipwrights forum you will get more of the crew see your question.
