A few years ago, I could count on Hobby Lobby to have the newest Tamiya kits. Sure it may have been umpteen of whatever new kit was out such as the Char B, or the Stug III and a bunch of the old standbys (M41, 250, 75mm PAK), but it was always great to be able to get the new kit for 40% off other stores. And they used to carry a number of the Italeri kits under different releases such as when they came with a display case. Yes, it wasn't the greatest selection and didn't beat a model store, but if I needed something cheap there it was. Nowdays, it's the same kits no matter where - Tamiya 250, PAK, M41, PzII, US Gun and Mortar set, US modern figures, Academy Abrams.
Does anybody have any insight on why this is? Still a great place to pick up miscellaneous supplies, but would love that new kit once in awhile.
