My hobby shop mental map of New England fails me south of Marlboro Ma.

I had thought I had heard of a good/great shop near Stamford recently and I will be in the area in the near future, but the google-fu results are not ringing any bells.

Anybody got any 'dont miss this one' shop recommendations in that general area?

Thanks
Mike

Yes Mike, definitely! HQ Hobbies, 394 New Haven Avenue, Milford, CT 06460. 203-882-1979. The owner, Randy, is a fellow treadhead. You'll swear you walked into the Spare Time Shop Annex. You can get lost in Kits, PE, resin, paints, and tools 5 feet from the door. Highly recommended!

Matt,
Thanks, that's the one! Any shop that can be described as the Spare Time Annex sounds great to me.

I guess my search area was not broad enough, or my memory faulty.. let's agree to blame google...

More kudos for HQ Hobbies. They also have a website for online purchases and their service is superb. http://www.hqhobbies.com/
I found and ordered two now-OOP Dragon 1/35 German AFVs for a very reasonable price from them and received them in the mail in three days!
Outstanding - well done HQ Hobbies.

There is the Time Machine in Manchester, CT. Well worth the drive.

A bit farther afield from Stamford is Craftec Hobbies in East Windsor, about 2 miles east of I-91 on Route 140. They've been around since plastic was given as a gift from Zeus and have an excellent selection and Jim is a great modeler and very knowledgeable about the hobby.

Also, in shameless self promotion, our contest, Valleycon 25 is in two weeks in Chicopee MA and will have almost 70 vendor tables. Link.
