Hi Mark,
Run a bead of putty on your palette, say 1inch long, then
run a same length bead from the hardner tube.
This measurement will give you the right proportions.
Mix well and you are ready to go.
I will post a photo of my recent Zimmerit so you may see the results I got...I am very happy with this stuff.
Cheers,
Joe
Joe, That works with most epoxies where you mix equal amounts, but isn't going to work in this case. Might be the Mori Mori putty marketed in Japan is packaged different than the stuff in the US. The tube the hardener comes in has a wider mouth than the putty tube--the hardener tube is really more like a tube-shaped midget plastic jar. If I ran beads of equal length I'd use up all the hardener in a single 1" bead, and I'd end up with more hardener than putty.
Can't measure by weight either because if I only want 10 grams of putty I would need 0.2 grams of hardener and I've got nothing that will weigh in increments that small.
So far I've just been using a toothpick dipped in the hardener tube to get the right amount based on the TLAR method. Figure I've got several trials before I get it right. Fortunately, the hardener has a bright yellow dye in it, so once I get it right I can keep that sample, and in future I just add enough hardener to get the same shade of yellow.
Have heard good stuff about Milliput as well. Unfortunately, there's three or four different types in the LHS, but I can't read enough of the Japanese labels to tell what's different about each, nor can I convince my wife to go with me to translate the labels.
