Last week was a rough one at work. Guess people have a hard time getting back into gear after the Holidays. It seemed people were just not paying close attention to work at hand.

I was so happy Friday came along - I had been ready for the week to end since Tuesday! My wife drug me out to Barnes & Noble to look for books. Didn't really want to go, but I did anyway.

I picked up the February 2004 issue of FineScale Modeler and began leafing through it. Usually, I buy it, take it home, and peruse through it a few days later. This time, I began leafing through it while she drove home. I habitually rip out those annoying Subscription insert cards first thing as I come across them - without even looking. Guess what I found?

On one of the Subscription Cards in this issue is my Dragon Wagon/M18 HellCat combination that FSM published in Great Scale Modeling 2003. Man, that made my week! My wife went and got me a little frame to put it in - so dorky - but I've never seen one of my models as "poster child" on a Subscription Card before.

I guess I really need to pay more attention to what's in the magazine in the future. Don't toss those Cards without looking at them!

Oh that would be too funny! If anyone actually did that - I would most certainly sign it and return the Card! :-)

Gosh darn you Gunnie, you just cost me $4.95 plus tax. Now I've GOT to go down and pick up a copy.

Congratulations. That is great.

You MUST have had a bad week. When my wife "drags" me down to B&N, not often but sometimes, she doesn't have to twist my arm too hard to get me to go along. I get most of my books online, Amazon, Abebooks, but there is just something about actually seeing the book in your hands before you buy they won't ever do away with.

That's great Gunnie! Certainly a spirit lifter to see your own work in FSM! (or any other mag!) Do you get a commission on sales brought in from this card? (he sez half-jokingly)

After reading the topic title and then this sentence, I just knew someone had tossed something you were working on. Whew, luckily that was not the case. Gongrats on becoming a "poster child".

Amazingly, mine was still in the magazine saving my place. I usually tear out the ones that go through the binding and use the freely inserted one as a book mark. Gunnie's Dragon Wagon was the loose one. Give the magazines a quick pick up and the loose one will be on the floor along with all the other magazine inserts. Then pick up Gunnie's

Just went and rooted through the waste basket and mine has been recycled. I wouldn't do that for just anyone, Gunnie. Congrats. The hits just keep on coming on this site, so to speak.

Congratulations Gunny!!!!!!...I bought that issue but , unfortunately, threw the card away.
I'm working on a Sturmpanzer IV for the Gallery section as we speak. Now I have to get my great modelling 2003 out and look for your work!

Hey Gunnie!
When I read your post my card was long gone. But today I picked up Great Scale Modeler 2004 and your card was in it. Good thing too, I would hate to get caught stealing subscription cards out of a magazine at B&N.
Great work Buddy.

Anything I ever get done will probably be published as examples of what NOT to do.
Congratulations.
