I'm looking at storage options for some resin kits.
My normal kits are in the roof, but it can get warm up there in summer here in Australia.
Was wondering what temperature resin warps.
Know you can use hot water to unwrap, so that means less than 100 Celsius, don't know hair dryer temperature but must also be less than 100.
Anybody know?

I have no idea about the melting temps of resin, i did melt the face off a plastic figure with a heatgun once and it wasnt that hot. If in doubt i wouldnt risk it, just in case you get a heatwave while on holiday, you could come home to some slightly melted kits as OZ temps can get silly high, i guess more so if you have a metal roof?

You could get a scrap piece of resin sprue from a kit then try leaving it in ever hotter water till it melted/distorted/or went shiny looking, while using a thermometer to take temp readings, then see if it gets hotter than that in your roof.

I dont know if large temperature fluctuations could warp resin/plastic overtime, or not melting temperatures still cause kits to sag and twist over time, personally if in any doubt i wouldnt risk it, id stick something else up there instead. Good luck.

that really depends on what type of resin and the shape of the parts. Big blocks will warp not so quickly, delicate or long parts will. Personally I do not think resin will warp under your roof, unless it gets hotter dan 50 degrees centigrade. I have seen build up resin models warp, but that happened when someone put them to close to a light bulb in a showcase.

It can get 45 C over there outside, melting the pavement, i cant imagine what that would be like in a roof If you go up in the roof dont forget a tennis racket for the jumping spiders
