I am looking for DS tracks for an M4A3, in US service. From what I understand, they are the T74 tracks. If they exist and anybody has them, make me an offer.

Hi Matt,

I haven't heard of any DS ones, but Bronco do a plastic indy-link set CBA3545 if you have a LOT of build time on your hands. The T74 looks a lot like T62 tracks that are available from Academy among others, but without the three rivets on the outer face of each link - you could grab some T62s and either ignore or shave off those rivets?

Beware, these things are not quick to assemble. I would strongly suggest trying to get the Asuka T62 tracks, or if you want something 'better', go with Panda plastics.

Have you confirmed that the specific tank you're using uses the T74 tracks? I think you might be looking at T54E1 tracks, that are much easier to find. They're similar, but I believe the T74 is more of a post war design.

I just ordered the T62 tracks, by AFV Club. However, I think you are correct that I am looking for the T54E1. I could not find those as a single band, though-

For T54E1 tracks there are two "band" sources I am aware of. Italeri/Revell do them in the "US Marines M4" and "M4 Calliope" kits, and these can be found dirt cheap with a little effort. However, these tracks can be a bit stiff, and need to be "trained" around a plywood form to get the curve around sprocket & idler to reduce stress on the axles. Then there are nice DS ones in DML's kit 6313 Sherman MkIII, but I expect folk are less keen to part with these ones. Still, you might find some spares out there...
