Hello all,
Sorry I didn't see this sooner or I would have posted when I joined the club.
A little bit about myself: My real name is Joe, 'Redaye' (pronounced red-eye) was a nickname I recieved when I was stationed in Germany back in '82-'83. I was in the Army from 8-81 thru 8-84. While in Germany, my job was repairing electronic equipment MOS 35E. Upon returning to the States, I was stationed @ Ft. Monmouth, NJ, where my job was to work with civilians in the electronics research & development department.
After my discharge, I had started getting back into modelling. Built a few airplanes and a few ships. The hobby was put on hold again during the first part of my marriage. Due to a change in my work schedule, I had an extra day off in my week so I had started modelling again. This time, I made armor kits. My ex-brother-in-law had asked me to build the tamiya 1/32 F-14 for him. I did, and this is when I bought my first of 4 airbrushes. I continued to build armor and now aircraft kits. Work was steadily getting better.
In '96 I joined the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. The unit was a mechanized infantry unit. This is where I became the M113A2/A3 driver for my squad. Being in a Mechanized Infantry unit, really got me up close and personal with the real armor. This is why my main modelling themes are modern US armor.
After my divorce in '99, I moved back to NY. I didn't re-enlist in the PA-ANG, my loss. I did, however, come across a lot of free time and no more nagging wife. My modelling has really taken off. I have to say that the internet has really helped push this hobby to where it is today. I have joined modelling clubs, but Armorama, has been the best one yet. The site is well maintained, the moderators are great, and even fellow club members have offered advice which I consider priceless.
My latest modelling theme has been the armor of OIF. I have posted pictures of 4 completed kits. I am currently working on 3 M2A2's. 1 is the new Tamiya M2A2 ODS, the other 2 are the older Tamiya M2A2 kits that i have repainted and I am giving them a face-lift. Those pictures will be posted soon. Then it's on to the Hummers.
Sorry if this post was long. Feel free to contact me at anytime. Will be hapy to talk. Until then, happy modelling.

welcome aboard Redaye. Just wait until you discover all the other versions of armor. I used to model strickly WW2 German. After seeing so much of Animals trucks I began doin those as well as Recent US tanks. It gets addictive and thank God i've still got space to stick 'em. Now if I can only keep away from those 350 scale ships
