Hello everyone. Being a bit of an novice at building planes,I have a question regarding Monogram's Pro Modeler Bf-109 G4 Tropical 1/32nd kit. The parts say they are made in Japan, and the instructions would have you fill in and sand away some access panels. So is this kit a repop of one of Hasegawa's kits? If so, which version, and can I build that version with some aftermarket decals from the box?

Hi Mike,i googled your kit, it is a Hasegawa 109. With this kit is the G-1,2,3,4 possible.
G-1 and -3 were high altitude versions, visible on the missing fresh air inlet under the windscreen, the right windscreen should be found in your box.
G-2/-4 versions did not have this item, they were unpressurized, the G-4 had a different
radio, so there is a change in the antenna.
Use on this versions the spoked resin wheels.

For the G-5/6 you need the stamped plastic wheels and different gun throughs and a bulges for the Mg 131 bifore the cockpit.

The Gustav had a lot of subversions and it is good to have photos of the real thing, may there are more differences.

i hope this helps

Thanks Bernd, for the helpful info. I am no expert on Bf-109s,and this info will help. The kit does have 2 windscreens as well as the resin wheels.

Have fun with it Mike, the Hasegawa Gustav build up very nicely.
May one of the best to build kits ever.
I have posted a Hasegawa G-6 some time ago here on Aeroscale
