We have no less than seven separate sets of Leopard 1 wheels available now. http://leopardclub.ca/workshop

Like the old set, ALL of these wheels have detail on BOTH sides unlike any other offerings from ANY other manufacturer - and they are all the correct profile.

All of these wheels have been accurately drawn using CAD technology and the masters were 3D printed.

LW001-1 are direct replacements for the older LW001 set which represent the standard production wheels.

LW002 are alternative wheels which have more curved/less angular inner rims. These are frequently seen as replacements, often mixed together on the same tank with the original style wheels.

LW006 Leopard 1 spare road wheels
The most common carriers are Australian AS1s and Danish 1A5DKs on their MBTs (1 or 2 carried) and any country on their ARVs (up to 4 carried).

The following four sets of bolted wheels were often mixed with the original wheels. It is very rare to find a tank equipped with a complete set of these bolted wheels.
LW007-3 Leopard 1 ‘Type 3’ bolted road wheel - Used by Denmark
LW007-4 Leopard 1 ‘Type 4’ recessed Allen bolted road wheel - Used by Denmark, Canada and Norway
LW007-5 Leopard 1 ‘Type 5’ Allen bolted idler - Used by Denmark and Norway
LW007-6 Leopard 1 ‘Type 6’ Allen bolted road wheel - Used by Denmark and Norway

Ideally these bolted wheels should be used with LW001-1 or LW002. They are all the correct profile, unlike other kit wheels. When used together, they will work. They are also designed to be used on new Leopard Workshop swing arms which will be released in December.

The bolted wheels CANNOT be used with the Meng or Takom back road wheel faces. Both the Meng and Takom back road wheel faces have a completely flat profile which depend on a molded-on spacer on the front wheel face. These should be replaced altogether.

These bolted wheels are OK for use with Italeri/Revell/PSM wheels.

I am sure that most do not realise that there are so many styles of Leopard 1 wheel:-) We now have everything covered.

The 'Type' numbers are Leopard Club designations, not official ones:-)

Best regards
