hey there everyone . just wondering when is the best time to spray a kit with primer i.e after the kit is complete or during assembly . some of the examples i'v looked up online show the entire model completely made and totally primered .So hense my enquiry .Im building a sdkfz 11 at the mo and would like to get the best effect from my paint

Depends on the vehicle. In the case of the Sdkfz11, I'd complete the model and then spray the primer. I always keep my tracks separate from the rest of the vehicle when painting however. With a semi enclosed vehicle (e.g. an Sdkfz 251) I try to keep it as large sub assemblies and primer them before final assembly.

You will also need to take into consideration paint any rubber rims. I leave the road wheels off, on tracked vehicles. Something else you may run into, is a difference of color between the "interior" and "exterior" paint. If it is all the same color or easily painted detail, no worries. If not, try to build the interior as a separate assemble.
