Hey everyone.. Picked up a hobby craft OIF hummer.. Now the hobby shop didnt have any Desert sand paint.. So I picked up some Tamiya acrylic desert yellow, dark yellow and buff coloured paints.. Any combination of these help in mixing the proper colours? Or is there something else I could use.. Thanks

I'm not familiar with Tamiya paints (on the desert paint that is)
I like Humbrol #121 and finishing with Tamya Buff... But I don't know if you are able to get hold of Humbrol...
Other tips (from Missing-lynx.com);
-Testors desert storm sand #2136
-Model masters Us army/USMC desert
Hope this helps...

My favourite too... #121 is a nice sand color, but a bit too light for my taste so I darken it a bit with a filter later.

For OIF colors, I use Testors Model Master #4812 US Army / Marines Gulf Sand on my vehicles. For the tri-color BDU's, I found that Tamiya Buff, J.A. Grey, and a mix of 90% Red Brown + 10% White is a good match. I am currently trying to replace the Tamiya colors for the tri-color BDU's with close Model Master colors. What I have found so far is: Tamiya Buff = Model Master Army/Marines Gulf Sand, Tamiya Red Brown+White mix = Model Master #4707 Earth Red. I am still looking for a close match for the J.A. Grey. I hope this helps you.
