movies about vietnam war tankers? got'em for Marines, Boy's in Company C and Full Metal Jacket, Air Force, Bat21 and even the Navy in Apocalypse Now and several for the Army but not a one for tankers. there's something definitely wrong there. just read Tank Sargeant by Zippo that would make a decent movie, even tho he did spend some time among the remfs

Vietnam was not known for tank warfare. There are a few exceptions. However, the Marines, US Army, and NVA greatly overshadowed them.

maybe so, but they still had an impact. look at Operations Cedar falls and Junction City 1/2. then there're the thunder runs. hell, a movie could be done about the ONly tank driver to receive the Medal of Honor, who was later killed in a liquor store robbery not long after returning to the world

Now, take a look at WWI, WWII, and the various wars in the Middle East. The tank was much, much more prevalent in these conflicts. There was more afv/apc/tank research done, as well.

It would be difficult and expensive to do a tank movie about jungle combat. Where you going to get the tanks?I don't know how many running M48s are out there, certainly no M48A3's there are probably more M60s. Would you mind M60A3's filling in for M48s or should we go with M41s yet again?

Tour of Duty TV series had some great tank scenes with the California Guard M48A5's as US tanks.

Be realistic about movie production and running tanks all over. It's easiest with running active service vehicles like those M47 and M24 in Battle of the Bulge.

How about a production about North Vietnamese tankers in 1972 and 1975? Vietnam would probably supply all the vehicles you could ever need.
