Are you guys aware of other shows in a range of 50-70 miles around New Haven, CT?

Usually the 1st Saturday in April,IPMS has Mosquitocon at the Wayne NJ PAL,it usually has a pretty big turnout of vendors and entries

Thanks Anthony, just Google ed the show and looks good. Probably go there. Am also checking the web for specialized shops in the area. In our area I found HQ Hobbies in Milford, CT. Where do you guys typically shop around for kits, after market parts, paints, etc?

I moved a year ago from SoCal and got a bit spoiled as there were a lot of Kit Collectors shows, ValleyCon and other good shows. Seems like the East Coast is a bit thinner, but probably I haven't searched hard enough.

Last Sunday in March is Valleycon in Chicopee MA, first Sunday in November is Baycon in Attleboro MA, third Saturday in November is The Long Island Figure Show in Freeport LI, NY and I think there' s a general model show at the same venue the week before. Also Poughkeepsie the third Saturday in October. A bit farther out for you, patcon in Hudson MA on 14 Sept and Granitecon in Nashua NH 19 October.
