"Man the flak 88!"
"Take hold of the Leopold!"
"Use the MLRS!"

Darn! Looking through my window is just like a war-torn country. Makes me remember D-Day landings.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!!

Me and my family spent New Year's eve in Merville(mom's place). Was channel surfing between LOTR-Director's cut and Star Wars Episode II when BAM!!! The lights went out at around 1030pm. As luck would have it, a small power grid was affected by a transformer exploding THAT INCLUDED OUR STREET!!! So we just went through the usual paputok and watched the other houses burn money(some houses in Merville actually have an informal competiton as to who has the most and nicest pyros!) Power was restored at around 5am Needless to say, I was pissed off because of mosquitoes!!! Oh well, I hope you guys had a better night! Here's to a better year(hopefully) to all of us!!!

Sir Bull! The same thing happened to me a few weeks back, albeit, ours had a bit of electrical-fire going on, sa poste! Haha! And some of the drivers were thinking of putting off the fire with water. Did the transformer literally explode there? I mean, that thing has boiling hot oil in it which could cause 3rd degree burns.

Good thing electrical lang naging problema niyo, kami when the Meralco people resolved the problem, they accidentally cut off my main phone line, which had me without a phone for around a week or so.

I think..soo...I was at the meet-and-greet! I was busy taking pictures of Fritz's gorgeous famo eh, plus I took the group pic! hehe!

Does Tesla meet the reqt's to be New Wave? I know they do sound like Skid Row, I just have them on the same-playlist on my PC kaya na-associate ko as New Wave. Hehe!

OT. I have a small recipe for scratchbuilding a Cannon! Hindi ito yung Bamboo or PVC type na kelangan nang kalburo.

Stuff you need:

Soda Cans
Duct Tape
Lighter Fluid
A Sharp Cutter for the ends of the cans.

Now here's what you do, gather up oh, around 10 cans or so, if it's too long, ontian niyo, basta the thing is to leave on can intact and just clear out both-ends of all the remaining cans. As in butas dapat yan cover to cover. Now attach all the cans SECURELY! as in as SECURE as you can get them, you wouldn't want them to fall apart when you use the cannon. Now with the last can, puncture the bottom-end of the can with a nail, yung malaking nail pwede na, just enough to fit a straw of a tetra-pack drink.

Attach the last part of the cannon to the bottom part of the now connected-can-cannon.

Get your lighter fluid, pour a spoonful or two into the hole, and shake it. Now with a lighter or any type of flame, light up the hole! And wala! You have a pretty loud cannon! If you're too paranoid about cans flying, enclose the whole contraption into a tube of PVC, basta remember to shake it! Hehe!

Enjoy!

Instant Flamethrower

Items
-Tamiya or any aerosol can
- lighter

Procedure

1. stretch either your left or right arm as long as it goes while holding the ligher and turning the flames on.
2. aim at your target
3. with your other hand, aim the aerosol can to the fire and spray like nasty!

Hi Jomz,
It's what the Meralco guys told me when I talked to them and I did hear a loud bang prior to the brownout. But then again it could be their generic reason for anything that goes wrong with the transformer. I can imagine the chaos of an exploding oil-filled transformer! Parang medieval oil-pouring during castle assaults!

Bull: At least it was only the power grid. I heard yesterday the full story of what happened to a house at Alabang on New Year's eve. The second floor - where the library was located - burned, presumably because of a stray firecracker. The second floor was of wood construction. Fortunately, the family was away, the house occupied by their helper. Unfortunately, when the house still claimed a casualty when, while the fire was dying down, some guards went there to secure the site from looters, one of the guards had to rush in the house to find something. He didn't know the place and fell from the stairs, his head hitting a sharp object. Instant death. The sad part is that this guard was all set to go home the following week - after having been away for 15 years.

Jepot: You can convert your CDs into MP3s, then have them burned into a CD-R in MP3 format. As for the cannon, why not a trebuchet for a simple 1:1 group build? hehehe
