I have just aquired the Eduard ME108 Profipack which contains an acetate sheet for the cockpit dials. I have never used these in the past and am unsure of how to go about fixing it to the etched part.

Should I use clear glue as I would for fixing a canopy or other clear parts?

Thanks for the advice

White glue (Elmer's, Lepage, etc.) used sparingly works well as it is just tacky enough to hold the parts together and dries clear. C-A tends to fog clear parts.

I concur with Biggles2 - regular 'ol white glue will hold it without damaging the plastic. You can also try Future acrylic wax.

:-) Paint the back of the dials white, this will show through on the front, making the dials stand out. If there is a backing part, use a smear of gell CA, on this then carefully place the film dials. Use watered down white glue on the front of the dials, to attach the PE dial faces. This is not very secure, however and you can easily knock the PE part off, especially when dry. 2 solutions to this problem; 1, smear gell CA around the edges of the 3 parts. Or 2, use minute dabs of gell CA, in between the dials, on the acetate, this will secure the PE. If there is no backing piece just ignore that step. I would still tend to smear gell CA around the edge of the parts, however I fixed them. I have never had a problem with fogging of the acetate dials :-)
