Hi Everyone,

I'm still a newbie for the air brushing and I bought a Paasche Air Compressor with tank and water trap.

My question is do you keep the air in the tank when you are finished or do you drain it and pump it back up the next time you are working?

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike,

If you paint often, no point in draining the air.

Cheers,

It does help to drain the air out through the petcock on the bottom of the tank occasionally. This allows any standing water in the tank to come out. I had a 7 1/2 gallon compressor/tank actually rust through the bottom. Noticed a little puddle of rusty water on the floor. You could push a screwdriver through the tank wall for several inches along the bottom of the tank. Was able to buy a replacement tank from WW Granger Inc. though.

OK, so make sure to drain it occasionally from the bottom to get the water our. Yikes
