I just noticed there is a newbie forum so I guess I should post here too.

After getting a lovely Revell 1:32 MiG 21 for xmas I remembered how much I like building models and so I decided to get back to the hobby.

Concise stats:
-24 years old
-part-time student / part-time programmer
-dwell around the south coast of Finland

Thanks for the welcome mate. (:-)

I will take some pics if it ends up well. I'm (re-)learning all the modeling skills from scratch so I'm not expecting a masterpiece yet. I know I've done a few mistakes already but hopefully this project has some learning value. I started painting with brushes (and will probably finish too) but I'm going to try my luck at airbrushing too, at least for the primer. If I could only find the patience to let the paint dry properly and keep the cat away at the same time the end result would prolly look somewhat better.

Welcome, glad to have you with us. As far as your cat goes, there are some modelers who save cat whiskers and use them for antennas on there vehicles. I have never tried this myself as I am allergic to cats!! Hope you enjoy the site.

That's an idea worth trying. You might want to try it too, I doubt you are allergic to a single whisker (it's usually the microscopic dandruff of animals that triggers the allergy).

Not yet but I think I'll do some German tank next. Maybe a Wirbelwind. The Leopard A4 or A5 seems interesting as well.
