I was just wondering if anyone else had tried this. I have clear decal film that i purchased from MicroMark. I wrote on it with a fine point Sharpie Permanent Marker. Applied my design to a test model. So far so good. The ink didn't run with just the water soak. I haven't tried setting solutions yet. I am wondering if I should apply my MicroScale Liquid Decal Film over my designs before using the setting solutions. My eventual goal is to find an easy way to apply the various crew personalizations commonly seen on armor and aircraft.

You can also print images off the computer and make them into decals as well. I use testors dullcoat out of a can as a sealer. It's opened up a whole new facet of modeling for me.

I'm with Frremann816 on Tangopapa. The only problem is that they only trade laser decal paper that cannot be used with deskjet ink because it doesn't adhere at all on the decal support. If you're going to use a laser or to paint/draw by hand your own decals that's fine. What I can suggest is to coat with Future or another caryl gloss varnish the artwork to seal it from water "intrusion"
