I have an adjoining wall, with my neighbor. His place caught fire and has to be rebuilt. The tear down guys banged so hard on the adjoining wall that the shelves fell off. On the shelves were 5 years worth of builds! All beyond repair, now. The only good news is that they have to pay fair market value for them.

Ouch! I feel your pain...

(On the plus side, you have a perfect excuse to build a load of replacements! )

and perhaps you can say you are lucky that your appartment did not catch fire. And with all these new kits coming on the market, maybe it was some sort of sign

I already have some items in mind. Value for labor is not included. This will also allow me more spending money at nationals.

A really horrible thing to happen, sorry to hear it mate.

Whilst all kits are replaceable, the time and effort taken on them is beyond value.

I have about 80 built kits on my shelves but they have taken over thirteen years to collect and build and that is time I would never be able to recoup.

Obviously I won't bother mentioning the "Shelf of Shame"... It's just too painful and embarrasing...

The only thing I can do is call them all "practice builds" and move on. I have enough kits in my stash to replace most of them. And, luckily I have plenty of photos in my media account to prove their existence.

are any of them repairable at all? could always use them for new projects like using them to create a destroyed tank dio. they can obviously be used for practice for new methods

No. They are completely destroyed. I'm still finding pieces that I don't recognize. The only thing that tells me they are from the same build is the paint.

Bummer man, I am sorry to hear about that. Good for you that you are getting compensated (somewhat) for the damages. I have heard stories from guys where they were told thier stuff was just " toys" and not covered at all.

Kuddos for taking pictures though, at least you have them.

Sorry, Hellbent
