Be kind? We don't need to be kind because even if, for example, we're pissed, we still can't say bad things about your builds because they are very well done!

I really like the PzH2000. What AB did you use? Very hard (well, for me at least) to do NATO camo on a 1/72 subject - even if it be an SP howitzer as big as the PzH.

BTW, do you plan on getting the 1/72 bridge-layer at JMN (or have you bought it already?)? I want it and I'd like to build it someday, alas no funding for the meantime. I've only done one 1/72 kit (Revell's Challenger I Mk. 3 KFOR kit) and I must say I was very much pleased by the quality of the kit especially the decals which were superb.

Again, great builds Elder Wanze! :-)

Sir Wanze, those be pretty nifty builds, kudos with the pictures, too. 1:72 right? What type of camera might you be using?

Oh my God! you are amazing!

I kneel down to you o mighty braille scale model builder, hail thee!
I bet your ultimate goal in life is to beat Doc Hermie huh? well you're really getting to it.

The PzH2000 does need a wash though.

To everyone,

Merci beaucoup for the generous comments.

GI,

Yep, I got the Biber bridge layer and it's awesome. :-)-- Want to get another one for posterity. Before I build this one, i need to get some reference materials for a fairly accurate build. Revell 1/72 Modern AFV kits have great detail. I am planning a long-term project with one of them and I hope to finish it mid-year next.

AB is my trusty seven year old Badger 150. I used my fine nozzle and needle for the camou pattern. Painting stripes in 1/72 takes a lot of practice!! Practice painting in styrene sheets before your model. I hope to buy the extra fine needle and nozzle at St. Patrick's.

Jomz,

My Canon Powershot A40 2.0 megapixel is my only digital camera. Bought it for quick snapshots for parties and barkada nights. I wish that I ad the macro adapter for 1/72 model shots. Yep, all my models are 1/72.

Fritz,

Guarnere is a master modeler with great style. With practice, I hope we all be in his league in the near future. As for me, i hope to develop my own style.

The wash is subtle because the reference material called for it. Plus, it's not a great image.

Well your practice has made perfect!

I'm still not worthy

Gi's right, Wanze. We dont need to be kind. Those models are A-1. Keep the photos comin' man.

I like the PzH too. I noticed you put in the missing NBC sleeve on the barrel. Great work, my friend!

I'd salute you but somebody took away the emoticons again.

Wanze: If and when I finish my PzH2000, let's pose your's and mine together. Oh yeah, mine is 1/35 hehehe AND DAMN BIG! Unfortunately, it - along with many other models - have "fallen into Shadow."

Flex: Lagot ka! Do head quickly to your nearest psychiatrist for treatment/therapy hehehe You can delete your posts though if you wish. :-)

I think after I'm done with my 1/35s, I'll try to concentrate on 1/72. They are so nice to build and you don't need massive real estate to display them.

Crismag IIRC has a 1/72 diorama of a german convoy running around some ruins with a 1/72 plane that has crashed into water. I think it's on the Features or On Display area of this site.

GI,

I also have the 1/32 but I was intimidated with the size. Thus, i started with the 1/72 scale for familiarity with the build.

Yes, I would be glad to pose my braille PZH 2K with your monster.

Wanze: Great! Just give me another year and some motivation to do the PzH2000.

BTW, what material did you use for the sleeve (ok, clarification: is that the thingy between the mantlet and the bore evacuator?)? The 1/35 version's instructions says that I should use aluminum foil. I initially used Kleenex facial tissue, but it didn't look good. I plan on "sculpting" epoxy putty instead.

Any other improvements you did to the kit - e.g. scratchbuilt some items, etc. - or was this purely OOTB? I modified the 1/35 gun's travelling lock to be movable so I can post the gun in travelling mode or when it's conducting indirect fire support.

One thing I don't like about the 1/72 kits are the baskets - the Challenger's basket was molded, and so I rigged up another by using some fine mesh that I found at me spares box (I think it came from a car kit).

GI,

Use putty....better control and look. In 1/72 baskets are usually out of scale and need changing. However, i build for myself when I don't join contests and thus, i don't mind them from time to time. For my haubitze, i just added the NBC sleeve on the extractor.
