I've never once heard mention the person behind the Sherman. Much like Edgar Schmued was the man responsible for driving the P-51 Mustang, surely there was someone ultimately responsible for drawing the Sherman? Yes, it was drawn to a Govt' requirement, but how many routes could that have gone; infinite. In all the books I have on the Sherman, never once is the designer/design team, the people behind it, mentioned. So, does anyone know?
