I was just wondering if anyone knows of any brand/type of pliers that are especially good for PE or are pliers just pliers... The jaws on my pliers are misaligned and I have had the same problem with pliers I have purchased in the past.

Try the brand Grobet from Germany . Pricy but not as expensive as the Tamiya .

To be honest the full length Tamiya ones are pretty bad. Misaligned side to side, and not parallel when closed (so you do not have equal pressure along the whole length, or no pressure at all). For small etch use tweezers from your significant others makeup kit or buy your own, but for pliers I would go with the hasegawa tritool ones, or good electronics ones.

And stay away from the ones that have serrated jaws. Those have a tendency to mar the etch.
