Hi all1

I am in the process of scratch building a B-36 in 48 scale, to fit in my collection of 48 scale planes.

Will try to make the structure from balsa, basswood, and blue insulation foam. Covering it with silkspan ahd white glue. Maybe finishing it with auto body primer. Painting with Alclad------

Any help with this would be appreciated!!

Gee thanks Jon!

At present I have a layout plan from the old Convair company who made the B-36.

Still very intimidating! The span will be 57". Horizontal tail is 18"---about the size of a C-47 wing!

It has some straightforward geometry except for the under wing nacelles which have some very strange compound curves. A very clean airplane which will help.

Since it will be a hanger queen, weight will not be an issue--we're not doing an RC plane here!

I plan to have it just as a ceiling hanger without too much detail. starting the horizontal stab now----hope to have pix soon!
