Recently picked up an old Gunze Sangyo kit of Rommel's GREIF, and the decals are wrong. All the photos show that on the right side of the vehicle GREIF was only outlined, not filled in red like the left side. The kit decals are filled for both sides. Anyone know where GREIF decals could be had, or alternatively a suitable technique for removing the red fill? Have considered re-painting the fill once on the model and hoping that if I get a little sloppy I can blend it into the overall wear and tear to the paint.

Mark I was just googling for such decals as well when out comes your post of a couple years back. If you haven't seen it yet, there's one from Monkey Depot:

I guess what I need now is the kit to stick it on.

Cheers,

How funny! Sure could have used those about two years back!

Here's what I finally wound up with after I cut the red from the RHS:

The chipping is totally over-blown because the 20-something-year-old decals pretty much disintegrated as soon as they left the paper.
