I have used compasses in the past but they tend to loosen up pretty fast due to plastic gear parts would like to find an all metal model or a all metal divider that is sturdy enough to scribe circles deeply enough in sheet stock to pop out the center circles up to perhaps 2in-4in diameter mainly for road wheel painting jigs and some turret ring spacers I have also tried the big circle template sheets with lots of sizes but I seem to find road wheels with oddball diameters anyone knows of such a critter would sure appreciate a link to where to find it
TIA

Look for OLFA brand cutters. I have even picked up a old used set of drafting compasses on e-bay.

Cheers

Couple years back, I picked up some drafting supplies that included a large all metal divider at a yard sale. Worked very nicely last week to open up a 35mm hole.

That said, I've used a circle template for all types of wheels.

Another option for you, faster than cutting a hole, would be to paint the wheels the body color, when dry cover the whole assembly with masking tape , then cut the tape from the tire.
