Many of us here spend a lot of time researching details and information about the various modeling subjects we work with. It got me thinking about the people who actually lived the events we often times research, and how much we know about them, especially when they are in our own families.

I thought it might be helpful to post a simple genealogy pedigree chart for anyone interested-the site states it is fine to copy. http://www.byub.org/ancestors/charts/pdf/pedigree.pdf

Ancestry.com is a great place to start. They are teamed with the LDS Church family history center, who offer significant help as well in researching family history. There are a number of other excellent organizations and programs available as well.

It is surprising to find out where you came from, who you are connected with, and what you ancestors experienced-some great, most probably ordinary people who simply lived through great events. I thought maybe someone here might find this of interest or use.
